This is my third visit to photograph the construction of the 2012 Olympic Park in East London. The panoramic photograph shows predominantly the Olympic Stadium nearing completion on the left hand side and the Aquatic Centre well under way on the right.
Does the life of a commercial photographer sound glamorous? I hope not because much of the time the laptop, Photoshop or the iphone rules. Sure we fly all over the place camera in hand. Sometimes to the Highlands, flying up. A driver to pick you up. See the sights… No I really mean see the sites! Models in Portugal, products in France. It doesn’t happen everyday, but neither does an exclusive in the Natural History Museum.

This image really shows the benefit of using specialist architectural photography equipment to maintain correct perspective.
Back in 2008 I was commissioned to photograph the new Twenty Ten Clubhouse designed by HLN Architects for the Ryder Cup 2010. I wasn’t doing this blog then but I thought, with the forthcoming event at the Celtic Manor, Newport, I would post a few of the architectural photographs here. The weather wasn’t fantastic that day but the sun did shine for a short while which does make a significant difference for architectural photography.

Commissioned by King Sturge, the managing letting agents for brochure shots of new prestigious building just completed in the centre of Bristol known as One Glass Wharf. The building is primarily occupied by City Lawyers Burges Salmon.
Shot of Richard, a senior engineer for Kimera Facilities Management in a plant room of an insurance company headquarters in Aztec West, Bristol. The shot was made a little more interesting and dynamic with the use of three small flashguns, two Nikon SB800’s with blue gels (full CTB) and a SB900 with an orange gel (full CTO).
