This is an elevated panoramic photograph high above The Mall in Clifton Village by Caledonia Square and West Mall. This is one of those vistas with balloons flying up in the evening sky. The shot was taken from an elevated perspective using a mast pole approximately 20 metres high.
Mast or pole photography as it is sometimes called is done using a pneumatic telescopic pole attached to a vehicle. The camera is mounted at the top of the mast and the rotation and series of shots is controlled from a computer inside the vehicle.
