Shot of Richard, a senior engineer for Kimera Facilities Management in a plant room of an insurance company headquarters in Aztec West, Bristol. The shot was made a little more interesting and dynamic with the use of three small flashguns, two Nikon SB800’s with blue gels (full CTB) and a SB900 with an orange gel (full CTO).
One of the SB800’s was just inside the electrical control panel on the bottom shelf and you see the effect of that unit particularly on Richard’s left hand and the lower part of the switch gear. The second SB800 was clipped to a high level cable tray above Richard’s head and just behind out of camera shot. The third flashgun, the SB900 was positioned on a stand above my camera and to the left. This flash was warm gelled and snooted to concentrate this light on the subject’s face and the company logo on his T shirt.
These three lights were set, not to over power the ambient light, but to provide for a much more interesting set up than could otherwise be obtained and provide a shot that will be used in corporate brochures and the web site for Kimera.
