This is my third visit to photograph the construction of the 2012 Olympic Park in East London. The panoramic photograph shows predominantly the Olympic Stadium nearing completion on the left hand side and the Aquatic Centre well under way on the right.
Back in 2008 I was commissioned to photograph the new Twenty Ten Clubhouse designed by HLN Architects for the Ryder Cup 2010. I wasn’t doing this blog then but I thought, with the forthcoming event at the Celtic Manor, Newport, I would post a few of the architectural photographs here. The weather wasn’t fantastic that day but the sun did shine for a short while which does make a significant difference for architectural photography.

Lots of photographers have taken lots of shots of the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol. Is this one any different? I would like to think so. Shot of Richard, a senior engineer for Kimera Facilities Management in a plant room of an insurance company headquarters in Aztec West, Bristol. The shot was made a little more interesting and dynamic with the use of three small flashguns, two Nikon SB800’s with blue gels (full CTB) and a SB900 with an orange gel (full CTO).
A brand new Sainsbury’s Superstore opens in Helston, Cornwall on 14th July 2010. My time slot to get as many shots as I can for the Architect’s is 6.00am until 8.00am. They have given me a very long list and guess what, it has only just stopped raining
Construction work is progressing very well in northeast London. I spent a day there working at a major civil engineering contractor responsible for installation of all the services on the site.
